ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – On Monday, December 2, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) responded to a 911 call reporting a structure fire in the Savan neighborhood. Upon arrival, first responders found an abandoned residence fully engulfed in flames.
Suppression crews from multiple stations, including Hotel Company, Echo Company, and Tango Company, quickly responded with several units. Their coordinated efforts brought the fire under control within 30 minutes.
We are relieved to report that no one was inside the structure at the time of the fire, and no injuries were sustained by civilians or responding personnel. The fire was contained to the abandoned structure, with no damage to nearby properties.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by VIFEMS. We are actively working to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the incident.
