Arson Confirmed in Structure Fire at Just Right Trucking LLC, Orange Grove

ST. CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — At approximately 4:37 AM this morning, the St. Croix 911 Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received multiple reports of a fire in the vicinity of Just Right Trucking LLC in Orange Grove. Initial reports suggested the fire originated in nearby bushes. However, upon arrival, Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) crews discovered that the company’s garage and several vehicles were fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters from C Company and A Company responded to the scene, deploying multiple fire suppression units. Despite the intensity of the blaze, their swift and coordinated efforts prevented the fire from spreading to nearby structures. Crews worked diligently to extinguish the flames and secure the site for investigators.

Following an initial investigation, it has been confirmed that the fire was deliberately set. Evidence suggests that arsonists trespassed onto the property and deliberately set fire to heavy equipment, including a trackhoe, a backhoe, and three dump trucks.

“This deliberate act of arson is a serious crime that not only endangers lives but also threatens the livelihoods of our community,” said Antonio Stevens, Director of VIFEMS. “We commend the swift response of C Company and A Company in containing this fire under challenging conditions and protecting nearby properties.” The VIFEMS Arson Investigation and Prevention Unit, in collaboration with local law enforcement, is actively investigating this case.

As always, VIFEMS is committed to the safety and well-being of our community. We encourage residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and practice fire safety.
