
The Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) honors and pays tribute to Barbara June Frost, the first female firefighter in the territory. With 28 years of dedicated service, Barbara retired as a Captain and led the Dive Rescue Squad, demonstrating remarkable skills and an unwavering commitment to her duties.
Barbara’s contributions to the department were not only in her bravery but in her ability to mentor and inspire others. Her leadership and dedication to her colleagues left a lasting impact on both the department and the community she served.
Her life’s work is a narrative of profound influence. “Barbara was a pioneer, a mentor, and a dear friend to many. Her memory and contributions to the department will never be forgotten,” said Director Stevens.
