ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at approximately 4:53 a.m., the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) received a report of a structure fire at Nye Gade 3A, Queen Quarters, near the Dutch Reformed Church.
Upon arrival, Hotel Company, with support from Echo Company, encountered heavy smoke and visible flames coming from the basement of the abandoned building. Crews swiftly initiated suppression efforts, entering the building and working for approximately two and a half hours before successfully extinguishing the blaze.
There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. VIFEMS is committed to uncovering the source of the blaze while continuing to prioritize the safety and well-being of the Virgin Islands community.
