ST. CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – At approximately 4:19 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) responded to a structure fire at the Living Life Health Food Restaurant, located at 56 Castle Coakley.
Upon arrival, a suppression unit from C-Company immediately initiated defensive operations. Due to the presence of industrial and propane tanks on site, additional units from within C-Company were requested for support. After approximately 15 minutes of intense firefighting efforts, the blaze was brought under control. Crews then entered the building and discovered significant smoke damage and moderate fire damage to the structure.
The Arson and Prevention Unit arrived shortly after the fire was extinguished and conducted an investigation. Based on their findings, it was determined that the fire originated from the rear of a nearby vehicle, which was fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread from the vehicle to the restaurant, causing damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no other properties were affected.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
