VIFEMS Contains Fire at the Department of Education Property

ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — On Thursday, August 28, 2025, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) responded to reports of a structure fire on the Virgin Islands Department of Education property on Kongens Gade.

Crews from Hotel Company, with support from Echo, Tango, and Lima Companies, arrived to find smoke and a small fire coming from a building on the western side of the property.
Firefighters made entry and quickly brought the fire under control.

No injuries were reported, and no neighboring areas were affected. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by VIFEMS.
