ST. CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – At approximately 9:24 a.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2025, Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) responded to reports of a structure fire at a two-story commercial building in the downtown Frederiksted area.
Crews from F Company, C Company, and M Company arrived on scene and encountered heavy fire conditions on the second floor of the structure. An individual who was in the upstairs area at the time of the incident self-evacuated safely before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters worked together to launch an aggressive attack, stopping the fire’s spread and protecting nearby properties. Once the flames were brought under control, crews remained on scene to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the structure was safe for investigators.
Investigators from the VIFEMS Arson Prevention and Investigation Unit responded to the scene after containment, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
As a result of the incident, Lost Dog Pub and 318 Luvn STX — both located on the first floor — are currently closed pending the investigation. The perimeter remains secured with yellow caution tape, and VIFEMS advises the public to avoid entering the building and to use caution when traveling through the area.
No injuries were reported, and no neighboring structures were affected.
VIFEMS remains steadfast in its mission to protect life, property, and the well-being of the Virgin Islands community.
