ST. THOMAS, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — On Wednesday, April 1, at approximately 9:43 p.m., the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) received a report of a structure fire at Salem Furniture, located along Moravian Highway across from Nisky Center.
Upon arrival, firefighters observed fire at the entrance and immediately initiated suppression efforts. The fire was brought under control within approximately seven minutes and was confined to the exterior of the building. No injuries were reported, and no surrounding properties were impacted.
The business remains operational, with no impact to its interior, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the VIFEMS Arson Investigation and Prevention Unit.
